William Richmond Obituary

NEW HARTFORD - William Charles Richmond, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 5, 2025. He was the loving husband of Lynn (Nilsen) Richmond for 39 wonderful years. Born December 19, 1962 in Norwalk; the son of the late Charles and Pauline (Lippolis) Richmond. Bill recently retired from Accu-Time Systems in Windsor Locks where he worked as an Accountant for many years. One of his great passions for the past 20 years was being "the voice" of Gilbert High announcing Basketball and Football games. In addition he also hosted a TV show with his friends, "Just Sports." Bill was a loving father, husband and brother. He trusted whole heartedly in Christ. His family and friends meant everything to him. His other loves included Diet Coke, the New York Mets, food and fellowship, and his Bronco. He enjoyed vacationing on Block Island, his fishing trips, and reading on his porch. He especially loved going to Italy with his family last year. He just loved life. The world will be too quiet without his voice, smile and zest for life. He is already deeply missed. In addition to his devoted wife, he leaves his beloved daughter, Jessica Algard and husband Micah of MA; siblings, Anne Wright and husband Brad of MA, Patty Richmond and wife Jenna Sellers of MA and David Richmond and wife Lisa of FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may call on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 4 – 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church, 371 Pinewoods Road, Torrington, CT 06098 at 12:30 PM followed by a reception at Fairview Farm in Harwinton. Bill always had a smile on his face and a positive outlook even when faced with challenges. He was friends with everyone at ATS. Words cannot express how deeply the news of his passing has been felt throughout our work family. We just said goodbye to him weeks ago knowing we would see him again for lunch or some other activity. My deepest sympathy to Lynn and Jes for this immeasurable loss.
