Rene Ramirez Obituary

Kingsville - Rene Ramirez entered into eternal rest on November 11, 2023 at the age of 46. Although he has left us with heavy hearts, we have many wonderful memories to carry with us. He was born on October 2, 1977 to Rafael and Guadalupe Ramirez, the baby of their 5 children. He is preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe.

He is survived by his father-Rafael, brothers-Ricardo (Lupita), and Rafael Jr (Crystal), sisters-Diana (Frank) Leal and Celina. Also 8 nieces and nephews- Ricardo Jr, Adan, Felicia (Phillip), Melissa (Stephen), Victoria, Erika (Kyle), Amanda (Albert) and Marlisa. 9 great nieces and nephews-Krystianna, Hunter, Amelia, Alexander, Lucas, Elenora, Kristian, Isaac and Julian who looked up to him for his athletic ability, sense of style and his video game expertise.

Anyone who knew Rene knew that although he was a large boy, he was really just a giant teddy bear. A gentle giant as some called him. Also left to miss him are 2 very dear and long time friends, Mary Juarez and Jared Carter who were with the family at Rene's bedside during his last days.

Family and friends will be welcomed on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Rudy Garza Funeral Home, 1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, from 12 PM-9 PM with a rosary being recited at 6 PM with a chapel service to follow. Rene was a huge sports fan, especially football, with the Kansas City Chiefs being his favorite NFL team and Notre Dame being his favorite college team. So, as a final honor to him we ask anyone attending his services on Friday to please wear his or your favorite sports team shirt or jersey if you would like to do so. Interment will follow at a later date.
