Arthur Louis Gonzales, born on May 21, 1932, died peacefully in his sleep in Tucson on November 11, 2023. Art was born in Yuma, AZ, graduated as salutatorian from Yuma Union H.S., and attended U of A on a scholarship. Throughout his career and afterwards, he was active in numerous organizations, including the Federal Reserve Bank, Tucson Airport Authority, United Way, and Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. An avid golfer, Arthur also loved traveling with his family in the US and abroad.

Art met wife Veronica in Phoenix. They married in 1960 and had three children, Roxanne, David, and Marisa. This year, Art and Veronica celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Ronnie , I happened to see Art´s obituary as I was looking to see updates on my husband´s who passed in October of 2021. I was surprised at my reaction when I saw his picture, that incredible smile. My Bill was 84 when he passed so I´m a little envious that you had Art for so long. I know how you must be missing him, it´s been the most difficult time I´ve gone through so my heart goes out to you. Ronnie we were both so blessed to have had such wonderful men to have shared our lives. Please know I feel for you.

I worked for Mr. Gonzales at MeraBank in Dallas, Texas in 1986. He was the nicest, honest and most trust worthy man.
I'll miss you Art.

Art has been a friend to my father and family my entire life. He was the definition of a true gentleman. I have always been amazed at how he was always up - so kind, positive and gracious, and would greet you with the biggest smile including the day I took this photo in January! Roni you and Art are always thought of with MUCH love by all the Rigoli´s. Vaya con dios!

I had the pleasure of getting to know Art when he was running Valley National Bank in Tucson. I was selling radio advertising and he was my client. As time went on he also supported many non-profits that I was involved with. He was the essence of a true gentleman! May his memory be a blessing.
