Charles Hawk Obituary

Charles R. Hawk, 79, of Lower Burrell, died Friday, June 24, 2022, as the result of a tragic equipment accident. He was born June 30, 1942, in New Kensington, to the late Charles R. and Mary E. Fassett Hawk, and was a lifelong resident of the local area. Mr. Hawk was a graduate of Arnold High School, Class of 1960, and a former member of the Bethel Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. He worked as a cylindrical grinder for Oberg and then for his own business, Hawk. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, walking, landscaping and going to his camp in Emlenton. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Claudia J. Robbins Hawk; four children, Chari (Jeff) Burtner, Cali (Eric) Awes, Cindi Hawk and Chucki (Missi) Hawk, all of Lower Burrell; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Burtner, Matthew (fiancee Samantha Neil) Burtner, Katie (fiance Allan Beattie) Awes, Ethan Awes, Morgan and Lexi Dorn, and Ella and Austin Hawk; and a sister, Carol Fouse, of West Virginia. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Cheryl Hernandez. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Mr. Hawk's 80th birthday, Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Faith Hall at Puckety United Presbyterian Church, 1009 Puckety Church Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068.
