Evelyn Mowry Obituary

Evelyn M. Mowry, 86, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Born May 31, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Clara (Terhorst) Kantorik. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. Mowry, and great-grandson, Brandon. Evelyn is survived by her brother, Buddy (Diane) Kantorik, of Mt. Pleasant, and sons, Rickie (Diane ) Mowry and Alan Mowry, of Acme. Evelyn had a passion for sewing and quilting. She is also survived by grandsons, Tim (Amanda) Porterfield, Tom (Cindy) Porterfield, Donnie Porterfield (Desiree), Andrew (Amanda) Mitchell and Stephen (Stephanie) Mitchell; great- grandchildren, Kayla (Devin), Brian, Megan, Emily, Cooper, Timothy Jr., Miley, Braden, Brittnee, Andrew, Katie, Brianna, Paige, Kaleb, Gavin, Timber, Ava, Ali, Chris, Abby, Jason, Katelyn and Brittney; and four great-great-grandchildren, Ronen, Helena, Avery and Sadie. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt. Evelyn's funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. Brian B. Chaffee, officiating.
