John Dolezal Obituary

John Dolezal III died on January 26th, 2025. There will be a visitation Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery and a graveside burial at 12:30pm at Cedar Memorial. John was born on January 6, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, the son of John Henry Dolezal Jr and Kathleen (Donnan) Dolezal. John married the love of his life, Pamela (Short) Dolezal and had two beautiful daughters, Marissa Dolezal and Kierstyn Triggs. They later divorced but remained friends. When the girls were younger John was a very dedicated father attending school activities, sporting events, and enjoying vacations with his family. John was an exceptionally hard worker who you wanted by your side. Throughout his life John managed and opened restaurants including, Carlos OKelly's, Granite City and Zio Johno's. John had a great sense of humor and enjoyed his family and friends. John is survived by his daughter Kierstyn (Michael) Triggs, Sister Julie (Chad) Pence, brother Donnie Dolezal and Pamela Dolezal. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Dylan Dolezal, Lauren Pape, her son Cassius and Sam Pape. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Kathy Dolezal and his daughter Marissa Dolezal. He loved to fish and cook with his dad and play golf. John was very close to his family. John cherished his daughters, and always rooted for his Dallas Cowboys. To everyone who knows someone in the struggle- and we all know SOMEONE in the fight directly or indirectly - Love everyone, show compassion and Grace, you never know the battle that they are fighting. Understand that their family is in the fight also- they fear everything; phone calls, seeing people on the street corner or park, they probably won't open a conversation with you about what is going on- encourage them, provide a soft landing. A special thanks to Heritage Specialty Care and Care Initiatives Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Kierstyn Triggs.
