Robert E. Zellers

Robert E. "Bob" Zellers, 87, of Findlay, died at 10:56 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at Birchaven in Findlay.

He was born April 10, 1936, in Findlay, to Lester M. and Alice G. Beck Zellers. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Carroll Hartman Zellers, and they enjoyed 27 years of marriage until her death in 1983. He married Nancy Paull Zellers in 1986 and they divorced.

He is survived by his sons, Tom (Bonnie) Zellers and Mike (Cindy) Zellers, both of Maumee; daughters, Deb (Dave) Guthrie-Sammet of Findlay, Cheryl B. (Steve) White of Findlay, Lisa (Jay) Fish of Findlay, and Stephanie (Tyler) Pendleton of Hilliard; brothers, David E. (Barb) Zellers of Findlay and Thomas W. Beck of Wayne; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Bob was also preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lester M. Zellers Jr.

Bob was formerly a Findlay City Councilman, member of Findlay Jaycees, circulation manager of the Republican Courier, involved with Lutheran Social Services, Women's Resource Center, the Right to Life organization, the Hancock County Chapter of Korean War Veterans, and was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and most recently attended The First Church of the Nazarene. He proudly served his country in U.S. Navy from 1954-1960. He lived his faith, was a true Patriot, and lived his life doing for others.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Bob's funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Michael McClurg officiating. Interment will be at Knollcrest Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
