William Johnson Obituary

William Darrell "WD" Johnson, 75 years old, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 5, 2023, peacefully at his home. He entered this world on August 30, 1948, born to Opal and WH "Dub" Johnson, in Lecompte, LA. He retired from Exxon Chemical in 2003 after 36 years of faithful service and devotion to his position as a Quality Control Inspector. WD enjoyed watching the stock market and was also known for his architectural skills and his love for the LSU Tigers. WD is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Patricia "Trish" Murphy Johnson; sons, Shane Johnson (Theresa) and Shay Johnson; daughter, Shonda Johnson Leteff Brignac (Timmy); stepson, Brad Kerry (Heather); 5 grandsons, Brennan Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Hayden Johnson, Taylor Leteff and Tyler Leteff; nephew, Nathaniel Johnson; and niece, Kacey Chronister. WD is preceded in death by his father, William Hadley Johnson; mother, Opal Von Duesler; brother, Glen Johnson; and nephews, Jacob Johnson and Mathew Johnson. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Johnson, Shay Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson, Brad Kerry, Taylor Leteff and Tyler Leteff. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
