Gregory Marrero Obituary

Greg passed away peacefully at his home on October 27, 2023, he was 60 years old. Born in Baton Rouge and resided in Gonzales, he was a graduate of East Ascension High School. Greg was a jack of all trades and helped everyone. He worked as a millwright, enjoyed cooking and anything outdoors. He loved his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Rene' S. Marrero; his nephew Brian Withers; his brother in laws Johnny Thomassie and Jim Harroun; his grandparents and various aunts and uncles. He is survived by Jill Millet and Jessica Day, his sisters Renee Withers, Stephanie Thomassie, Tracy Sheets, and Karen Marrero, 13 nieces and nephews, and 10 great nieces and nephews. A blessing of the grave will be held at Hope Haven Cemetery on Highway 30 in Gonzales, LA on November 11 at 2:30 p.m. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at the KC Hall on Black Bayou Road in Gonzales, Louisiana on November 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We would like to express our thanks to Church Funeral Services and Father Martin Lawrence of St. Mark Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
