GAINESVILLE - Joy Pace, 79, of Gainesville, TX, passed away November 2, 2023 in Gainesville. Joy was born February 26, 1944 in Muenster, TX.

She was a dedicated daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who was the consummate caregiver, always looking to put others before herself. She enjoyed drawing, painting, traveling, and spending time walking through nature. Mrs. Pace was also a talented cook, loved chocolate, flowers, and was an avid reader, always seeking to learn something. She was a woman of faith and devoted Christian.

Survivors include: son Charles Pace (Wendy) of Lawrenceville, GA; son Wes Pace (Noriko) of Flower Mound, TX; son Joel Pace of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren David Pace (Lakiya), Emily Pace, and Ernesto Scott; sister Jeannie Aytes of Spokane, WA; sister Kay Rainey (Cecil) of Rosston, TX; and sister Dr. Vivian Thomlinson of Gainesville. Mrs. Pace was preceded in death by: parents Cecil and Jackie (Williams) Aytes; husband Billy Earl Pace; son Stephen Michael Pace; and brother Ronnie Aytes.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Reed Cemetery, Myra, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to the World Wildlife Fund for Nature or American Cancer Society. You may register your condolences online at www.geojcarroll.com.
