Jean Falla

Greenfield, MA - Jean (Ross) Falla, 79, longtime resident of Lincoln Street died peacefully on Thursday, October 12th in Greenfield with her husband of 56 years by her side. Jean, a lifelong resident of Greenfield, was born in Greenfield on July 20, 1944 to Cloyed and Alice (Ethier) Ross, graduated Greenfield High School in 1962, and was a part of the first graduating class of Greenfield Community College.

Jean worked as an Analyst for Pheonix Mutual and John Hancock Insurance Companies for many years until her retirement.

She loved and embraced her family roles as a wife, mother, and meme. Her unique cheering and enjoyment at sporting, family, and social events were always identified before she was seen. Her many talents included orchestrating grand holiday meals with a special ability to fill the dessert table. Jean was always willing to participate in any adventure, blessing all with wonderful memories.

Jean was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenfield.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard "Dick" Falla. Her three children; Daniel Falla and his wife Tammy of Rutland, MA, and granddaughters Allie, Jamie, Bailie and Rylie; Wayne Falla and his partner Scott of Madison, WI; Nicole Leite-DeSouza and her husband Leandro of Wilmington, MA, and grandchildren Leah and Dennis; brother Cloyed Ross and his wife Carole; sister Marilyn Matysiewicz; brother and sister in law Richard and Patricia Lally; brother in law Charles Falla; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends Carol, Mary, and Kathy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 18th at 9:15am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at Blessed Trinity Parish, Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal Street, Greenfield. The Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 4-7pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lifepath of Greenfield.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to all of you. I first met Jean when she worked at Phoenix and it´s been an honor and pleasure getting to know both she and Dick throughout the years. May you find some comfort in your memories and knowing the deep love she shared with each of you.

To all of Jeans family I am very sorry to hear of Jean´s passing! Marilyn I remember Jean from Holy Trinity School. She was a year ahead of Paul!! And here in town!!
