James L. Hill, Jr.

Montague, MA - James L. Hill, Jr., "Hillski" 60, of Montague City Road died unexpectedly Saturday 10/28/23, after a recent diagnosis of a rare heart condition. He was born in Brattleboro, VT on September 22, 1963, the son of James L. and Margaret (Evans) Hill, Sr.

Jimmy attended Greenfield Public Schools where he played baseball and football and was a graduate of GHS Class of 1982. On the weekends he was The Activities Coordinator for his friends.

He was a construction laborer for many years and took great pride in his work. In his most recent years, he completed landscaping and side jobs for friends.

Jimmy enjoyed watching and going to Patriots and Red Sox games, skiing, and snowmobiling with friends. He had a love for travel and looked forward to adding more destinations to his passport. He was a lover of music and especially enjoyed listening to Classic Rock. His favorite pastime was time spent with his sons and family.

He was predeceased by his father, James L. Hill Sr.

Among his survivors, Jimmy leaves two sons, James D. Hill and Michael E. Hill, and their mother, Sandra Peterson, all of Greenfield; his mother, Margaret Hill of Northfield; two brothers, David Hill (Tricia) of Vero Beach, FL; Paul Hill (Yelbix) of Northfield; a sister, Andrea Hill Brunaccioni (Jamie) of Northfield; two nephews, Joshua & Jacob; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 18, 2023, at 12pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home 220 Federal St. Greenfield, MA 01301.

A Calling hour will take place from 11am until the service time.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The American Heart Association PO Box 840692 Dallas TX, 75284-0692.

Jimmy and I were next door neighbors at 6 or 7 years old and became great friends. I'm really going to miss him. I'd like to send my condolences to the entire family. I wasn't able to make the service due to poor health. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
