Terry Hollopeter Obituary

Terry Ross Hollopeter, 66, of Big Run, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at home with his loving family.
He was born in Punxsutawney on July 18, 1955, a son of the late Sherman Ross Hollopeter and June Ethel (Fike) Hollopeter.
He was a 1973 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
Terry was a member of Solid Rock Community Church, formerly St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Big Run.
On July 28, 1979, he married his sweetheart, Melody Ann Hill. They enjoyed nearly 43 years of marriage and raised two loving sons.
Terry worked in the "Gas Patch" for many years. He began working on the drilling rigs, moved to being a well tender, and also worked in well fracking before his retirement.
He loved his family first and foremost. He enjoyed spending time with his sons as they were growing up. He took an active role as Scout Master in Big Run for many years while the boys participated.
Terry also enjoyed his lifetime friends, the "Big Run Brothers"; he looked forward to the annual motorcycle ride and spending time at Muth's winter camp. He was an avid outdoorsman. One of Terry's favorite treasures was his Indian Motorcycle; he planned to do a lot of riding in his retirement. His family will fondly remember him as the "professional" bird watcher. Terry was also the undisputed world Champion Shadow Wrestler.
In addition to his wife, Melody, he is survived by two sons, Elijah Hollopeter and wife Tera of Big Run, and Shane Hollopeter and Kristi of Big Run; six grandchildren, Rileigh Hollopeter, Raiden Hollopeter, Brandon, Trenten, Joey and Kennedy Pearce; one sister, Patricia Hollopeter of Countryside, Illinois; and three brothers, Russ Hollopeter and wife Georgianna of Guysville, Ohio, Keith Hollopeter and wife Charlotte of Big Run, and Mark Hollopeter of Chicago, Illinois.
In accordance with Terry's wishes, there will be no viewing. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Solid Rock Community Church in Big Run.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. at the church, officiated by Pastor Joel Fugate.
Memorial donations may be made in Terry's memory to Solid Rock Community Church, 100 Church St., Big Run, PA 15715.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Big Run.
