HUDSON FALLS – Janet L. McKinney, 72, of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness.
Born July 10, 1951, in Stony Creek, she was the daughter of the late George and Bertha (Rehberg) Brown.
Janet was a graduate of Stony Creek High School. She was employed with Warren Washington ARC for 30 years.
She was a devout member of the Durkeetown Baptist Church, attending the 12 o'clock prayer group remotely, every Sunday.
Janet loved cooking, baking, and collecting cookbooks. Together with her long-time companion, Terry, and their dogs, they would travel to Maine, finding treasures at all the garage sales. Janet would always find the best bargains wherever she shopped. She will be remembered for her friendly smile and upbeat personality.
Janet is predeceased by her parents, George and Bertha (Rehberg) Brown.
She is survived by her longtime companion and love of her life, Terry Pratt; her daughter, Mandy Cristopoulous (Steve); her loving granddaughter, Kendra VanNess (Josh); her grandson, Ryan Starks; and her precious great-grandchildren: Kyree, Kaleb, and Forest. Janet is also survived by her brother, Ken Brown of Latham; her dear friend, Coral Bardin; and dedicated friend and caregiver, Angela Stark.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
