Edwin Andrew Peterson

Edwin Andrew Peterson, 58, passed away of natural causes at his home in Warren, Mich.
Known by his friends as Andrew, he was born in Portland, Ore., June 26, 1963. He was a graduate of the University of Oregon, Class of 1985 (BS in Telecommunications and BS in History). He was a member of Kappa Sig fraternity. Andrew's love of the film "Repo Man" lead to a successful career in the automotive industry. He worked as project manager, facilitator and trainer for Volkswagen of America for many years, based in San Diego. Most recently, he served as client installation manager for CDK/Infosys in Michigan.
Andrew loved making and listening to music. He was a skilled drummer who played with many bands in Portland. He was a skateboard and jet ski enthusiast, competing on the latter on the amateur circuit. Andrew was a film lover, especially Asian, Kung Fu and Godzilla movies. He was a passionate fan of soccer ("footy"), and was an ardent supporter of the Premier League Liverpool Football Club, as well as the Portland Timbers. He coached soccer teams in Beaverton where he grew up, and later coached his daughters' teams in Royal Oak, Mich. After moving to Detroit in 2014, he became a fan of the Detroit FC, and joined the Detroit Curling Club.
Andrew was loved by his friends and family for his sense of humor and fun. His greatest joys were his daughters, Olivia, 11, and Amelia, 9, whom he loved above all else.
Andrew will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Olivia and Amelia, and his former wife, Kristen Adamek Peterson, all of Royal Oak, Mich.; his parents, Edwin J. Peterson and Anna M. Peterson of Salem; his sister, Patricia Ben Peterson of New York, N.Y.; his half-sister, Deborah Johnson of Portland; and his stepsister, Sherry Perrault and brother-in-law, Michael Harding of Seattle, Wash. He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Lee Peterson of Albany.
A celebration of Andrew's life will be scheduled for a later date.
