Timothy P. Hopkins of Cary, IL formerly of Elgin passed away suddenly Nov 2, 2023
He was born in Elgin, IL May 17 1970 to Michael and Catherine Hopkins
Tim attended school in Elgin, graduating from Larkin H.S. He attended college and graduated from Illinois State University.
He was co-owner of a third generation family business Hopkins Grease Company. Tim was a hard worker who could fix anything. Tim had a beautiful smile was a devoted, loving and generous father, brother, son, uncle nephew, cousin, boss and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.
Tim loved all sports especially wrestling, which he participated at both High School and College. He loved to water ski and taught his children to love the sport. He loved attending his children's sporting events. He was a passionate fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish the Bears, Blackhawks & cubs. Tim had many loyal dogs his latest was Echo who was his constant companion and protector.
Tim is survived by his children Katherine, Andrew and Jackson, his mother Catherine Hopkins, his brother Michael ( Teresa) Hopkins, his sister Sandra (Chris) Tsonis, his niece Sophia (Christian) Mosley, nephews Nicholas and Anthony Tsonis and many beloved Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Tim was preceded in death by his father Michael W Hopkins, his maternal grandparents Francis and Evelyn Jones, his paternal grandparents Antoinette and James Geister.
Uncles Mel Hopkins and Tom Jones.
Visitation will be held 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday November 8th at Laird
Funeral home, 310 S. State St. Elgin, il. Funeral mass will be held Thursday Nov 9 11:00am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Dr., Elgin, Il Visitation at the church, on Thursday, from 10:00am to 11:00am . I still remember the first day I met little Timmy and his older brother Michael when they moved in across the street from my family in the 70´s. Although I haven´t seen Tim in decades, I still remember him fondly. My condolences to Tim and his family.
