Zofia Kikosicki Obituary
April 23, 1940 - November 5, 2023
Zofia "Sophie" Kikosicki, 83, of East Haven, passed away on November 5, 2023. Beloved wife of 60 years to Raymond Kikosicki. Sophie was born in Poland on April 23, 1940, daughter of the late Jan and Florentyna (Basik) Strzalkowski. Loving mother of Elizabeth Ferraro, Joseph (Lauri) Kikosicki and John (Sallyanne) Kikosicki, all of East Haven. Cherished grandma to Kristin, John, Megan and Jordan Kikosicki and Celina (Jesse) Tarantelli. Proud great-grandmother of Valentina and Jesse James Tarantelli. Sophie was a very special aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Sophie was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Karol and Theresa Strzalkowski of Boiling Springs, PA. She was the sister-in-law of Richard (Fran), Joseph (Claudia), Paul (Donna) and John (Gail) Kikosicki, and the late Rose (Robert) Rabovsky, Theresa (Ozzie) Stankiewicz and Frances (William) Augustine. Sophie loved spending time with and cooking for her family. She spent many fun years watching her grandchildren, planting flowers, and weeding in her garden, or any garden or lawn she happened to be in. Sophie was an avid hugger and had a tight squeeze for everyone she knew. She also enjoyed her trips to the casino. Sophie was a faithful parishioner of St. Pio of Pietrelcina (St. Vincent de Paul) Church.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80), East Haven Saturday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at St. Vincent dePaul Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call FRIDAY from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, 355 Foxon Rd., East Haven, CT 06513. I always felt enormously treasured by Aunt Sophie every time I saw her. Living in Idaho I didn´t see her often but every time I did she gave the biggest and longest hugs. She adored her brother (my Grandpa Karol) and I loved seeing them interact together. They both lit up in each others presence and it was a treasure to get to witness the love and respect they had for one another. We will miss you, Aunt Sophie. Sending love and prayers to the Kikosicki family.

There are no words for how sad I am that Sophie is gone and for your family left behind. Sophie you were my second mom, practically living there all of my high school years. I was so incredibly lucky to have you in my life and to be part of your loving family.
I have so many fond memories of those times and especially you !
I´m so thankful I got to see you in April when I was up visiting and was able to get one last big hug that you are so famous for. All my love. RIP the love you gave will be forever missed. ox Michelle (Andre)
