Carole Glaser Obituary

Carole L Glaser
Sept. 1, 1934 - Oct. 23, 2023
Carole Glaser, a resident of Southbury and formerly from Danbury, Connecticut, passed away on October 23, 2023, at the age of 89. She was born on September 1, 1934, in New York, to her parents, Isadore Dlugin and Thelma Rudensky Dlugin Sternberg.
Carole Glaser is survived by her devoted family; her 2 sons: Matthew Glaser, wife Melissa, and Peter Glaser, wife, Suzanne Glaser; her daughter, Rachel; and 7 grandchildren: Abby Glaser, Samuel Glaser (with wife Alyssa), Jacob Glaser, Daniel Glaser, Jack Glaser, Eric Glaser, and Ryan Glaser.
Carole was a remarkable woman who left a lasting impact on the lives of those she touched. She enjoyed spending time with family and staying connected with her grandchildren. She had a diverse and fulfilling life. She was a teacher, a design consultant, and a passionate volunteer. She had a knack for engaging in conversation with anyone that crossed her path and always took interest in the lives of others. This was evident in her volunteer work at Danbury Hospital. Carole had a true interest in the arts, a supporter of local museums and the theater and shared this interest with her grandchildren. She was a committed and long-term volunteer at the Mattituck Museum and the Aldridge Museum.
One of Carole's most treasured achievements was her ability to maintain friendships that spanned an astonishing 70 years. Her enduring bonds with friends were a testament to her warm, welcoming and fun-loving personality. Carole Glaser will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to her family, her selfless service to her community, and her lasting friendships, her sense of style and inquisitive personality.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pitchon-Lev, breaking the cycle of Poverty in Israel, https://www.pitchonlev.org.il , or the Aldridge Museum.
Carole Glaser's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life. May her memory be a blessing.

Wanted to add since we sent our prior condolences that my husband Jerry passed away very unexpectedly on March 18th while we were visiting family in California. I like to think that Carole and Jerry are up in heaven having a good chat just like they always did around the garages at Heritage Village. Wishing you comfort and peace.

Matthew, Peter & Rachel;
I was deeply saddened when I heard about the loss of your mother. She was such a wonderful person. Matthew you surly don´t remember that I use to babysit you when you were a toddler. You all may remember my mom you knew as Mrs Lee. I always loved seeing your mom whenever I went back to Danbury for a visit.
I know she loved and was very proud of each of you. She will always be with you. There will be so many little things that will remind you of her, when you least expect it. Cherish the moments & it is ok to cry. I wish I could give each of you a big hug.

My condolences to Carole´s family.
She was such a great lady. Always positive, with a great story to tell. She trained me during my time at Waterworks. Whenever I wanted to give up she gave me the encouragement I needed. She was one of a kind and will be missed.

Matthew and family, I am so very sad to hear of Carole´s passing. I always loved your Mom so much, the obituary is beautifully written, especially the "knack" part- she was instantly loved!! My Mom and Carole wrote plays together that were hysterical and put them in at the UJC. We got together a lot when the kids were small. My condolences and to all of the family.

We came to know Carole 18 years ago as a neighbor, upon moving to Heritage Village in 2005. During those early years, she often came to our condo for neighbor get togethers. We got to know her daughter Rachel, and young grandchildren when they briefly lived with her. Carole was a sweet, kind caring lady who always had a positive outlook. She was not only a wonderful neighbor but had become a good friend over the years. She was always eager to hear about our travels and our family. We had developed a close bond over the years as garage neighbors and we always looked out to help or assist her as the years passed. We will dearly miss her sweet cheerful greetings, lovely smile and caring conversations. Our very deepest condolences.

My condolences to Carole´s family. She was an incredible woman who gave back to this world all that she got from it. She was my mentor when I was at Waterworks and a friend for life. A wonderful, smart, creative woman who was always there for you during hard times, it was an honor to have been part of her life. I will never forget her.
