PHILADELPHIA - Claire E. Lichty, 36, of Philadelphia, and formerly of Kulpmont, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Temple Hospital. Although her illness had been brief, her battle had been lengthy.
She was born in Shamokin, April 25, 1987, a daughter of Alan and Mary Lynn (McGinn) Lichty.
Claire was educated at Holy Spirit School, and both Mount Carmel and Shamokin area high schools.
After acquiring her CNA license, she was employed by Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center until ultimately making the switch to home healthcare. It was within this job that Claire's kindness and compassion shined through. She was at her happiest providing comfort and care to her clients. She was extremely kind and considerate and always willing to help. She was devoted not only to caring for her clients, but lifting up their spirits. She made a difference in so many people's lives.
In October 2011, Claire met Michael Laskowski, the love of her life. They were engaged in 2012 and went on to have a beautiful son, Dominic Gerald, who survives.
A lover of animals, books, music and poetry, may Claire be remembered as funny, warm, fearless and resilient.
In addition to her son Dominic, Claire is survived by her parents; her godmother, Joanne (Lichty) Rodarmel; her extended Laskowski/Capille families; aunts, uncles and cousins; and her dear, lifelong friend Amanda (Feudale) O'Larry and her family who were her second family for the entirety of her life.
Claire was preceded in death by her fiance, Michael, in July 2017; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Phyllis McGinn; paternal grandparents, Jake and Betty Lichty; her godfather, John Moratelli; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
