Thomas R. Yeaw, age 76 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at his home in Hopkinton, R.I. He was the beloved husband of the late Terri H. Yeaw.
Born in Scituate, Rhode Island he was the son of the late Leona M. (Masciarelli) Yeaw and Jeremiah Stone Yeaw; loving father of Kim Moore, North Scituate, RI and Thomas Yeaw (Christine), Naples, FL; loving Grampie of Caitlyn Yeaw, Zoey Nulman, Jack Nulman and the late Lindsay Yeaw, and Great Grampie to Jeremiah Green. He was the beloved brother of Charlotte E. Tourtellot, Stephen K. Yeaw and the late David A. Yeaw and Jeremiah L. Yeaw. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Tom was a member of the National Guard and retired from Drakes Bakeries and the Teamster's Union. He was also a member of the Potterville Volunteer Fire Department and served as the President of the Scituate Town Council from 1976-1984. He was a long standing member of the the Masonic fraternity having served as Past Master and current Chaplain of Ionic Masonic Lodge #28 of Green, RI, an Honorary Member of Charity Lodge # 23 and Daylight Lodge # 48. He was Grand Chaplain Emeritus of the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island after having served numerous years as Grand Chaplain. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason and was the present Secretary for the Valley of Providence. Additionally, he was a member of Providence Chapter # 1 Royal Arch Masons, past Thrice Illustrious Master of Providence Council Royal and Select Master Masons and member of St. John's Commandery # 1. Tom was a member of What Cheer York Rite College and was currently serving as Viceroy of Providence Plantations Red Cross of Constantine.
Tom will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a loving son, husband, father, Grampie, brother and friend, a great conversationalist, history buff and a man with a very caring heart, always volunteering and willing to help people. Tom was a humble man with many achievements, admired by so many and he will be greatly missed.
A Masonic Service will be held on Sunday January 23rd at 10:30 am at The Scottish Rite Center Valley of Providence, 2115 Broad St, Cranston, RI with a reception immediately following in the hall of the Scottish Rite Center.
In lieu of flowers donations in Tom's name made be made to: Rhode Island Children's Dyslexia Center, One Rhodes Place, Cranston, Rhode Island 02905.
