Sharon Marie Taylor-Brewer, daughter of Lover Mae Lewis and the late William G. Taylor, was born March 1, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The second of four children, she was known fondly as "Rie" to her siblings and family.
Sharon attended Indianapolis Public School #4 and went on to graduate from Crispus Attucks High School in June of 1970. Sharon was married in August of 1975 to her high school sweetheart, Rodney Brewer, and to that union was born her pride and joy, Ramonda Lynn Brewer.
Sharon's work career started with the State of Indiana. Later she went on to Indiana Bell and finally, she retired as a federal employee at DFAS -IN.
Sharon professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Holy Name of Jesus. She loved the Lord and witnessed every chance she got to her daughter, Ramonda, Jarrel and JaNiya (who fondly called her "Nay") about the goodness of the Lord. She was a member of the Kingdom Apostolic Ministry (Mt. Zion Apostolic Church and loved sharing her faith with others.
Sharon had a unique flair for style and fashion. She loved gardening and jazz, which all contributed to her cool nature. She loved both interior and exterior design and often lent her expertise to family and friends, as she had impeccable taste. When you saw Sharon she always looked like she dropped out of a fashion magazine as she was put together from head to toe, never missing a beat. She passed her passion and knowledge for fashion and design to her daughter and granddaughter alike as they mimic her love of fashion and style. Sharon displayed her love of design with class and sass that was uniquely her own.
Sharon departed this life peacefully on July 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her eldest brother, William G. Taylor ("Nookie"). She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Ramonda L. Brewer; granddaughter, Jarrel S. Owens; great-granddaughter, JaNiya D. Fuller; her mother, Lover Mae Lewis; aunt, Barbara Palladino (Robert); brothers, Jerry D. Taylor and Michael A. Taylor; nephews, William G. Taylor, Jr. and Michael A. Taylor, Jr.; her kindred sister, Gloria Grace-Collins ("Glo"), along with a host of cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
Psalm 4:8
In peace I will lie down and sleep for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.
