Sandra Kay McLean, 76, a resident of the Forest Grove Community, passed away on June 14, 2022, at the Kaiser Permanente Westside Hospital.
Sandra was born on October 2, 1946, in Portland, OR. She was one of four children born to Raymond and Regina (Ludwig) Schweizer. Sandra was raised in Portland and attended North Catholic High School graduating with the class of 1964. She then attended Providence Nursing School and attained a nursing degree in 1966. Becoming a nurse was Sandra's lifelong dream.
She met her future husband, Terry Mclean, at a local bar, "The Longhorn" and he had asked her out. Following a 10-month courtship they married on May 2, 1970, in Kelso, WA and had their vows Blessed on June 6, 1971 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Tigard. They made their home in West Portland until 1975 when they moved to Sherwood. In 1985 they moved again to Hillsboro and settled in Forest Grove in 2000. Sandra was a nurse for over 47 years and had worked all over Washington county including Camelot Care Home in Forest Grove retiring as a Nursing Supervisor.
She enjoyed time spent with her family camping, engaging in "Rendezvous" Black Powder reenactments all over the PNW. She was also a great homemaker, had a place for everything and enjoyed keeping a tight ship. Terry and Sandra enjoyed riding motorcycles and have visited Sturgis, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Canada, and Northern California. Sandra's biggest accomplishment was being a grandmother to her six grandchildren.
Sandra is preceded in death by two children, Cheryl and Scott, her parents, and a brother: Ron Schwerzler. She is survived by her loving husband Terry, a son, Bryan McLean of Hillsboro, a daughter in law Danette Grossman, and six grandchildren: Devyn, Aiden, Kailey, Logan, Ensley, and Colton.
