It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our Dear Friend, Mark R. Anderson.
Mark was born in Puyallup, Washington on April 13, 1959 to Dorothy L. Whitman and Rudy R. Anderson.
He grew up in Tacoma/Lakewood, Washington. Mark was adventurous and had a great love for nature. He was passionate about fishing, boating and all outdoor activities. He attended and graduated from Clover Park High School in 1977, where he was a member of the wrestling team and because he was a fierce and skilled competitor, his team excelled in state competition all 3 years, while he was a student.
As a young man, he chose his profession to be a tree topper. He owned a successful business in both Ketchikan and Juneau, Alaska for 20+ years. Many will fondly, remember Mark delivering wood to their homes and businesses.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy L. Ward and sister, Bonnie Harris.
He is survived by his father, Rudy R. Anderson (Ione), of Chandler, Arizona, brother, Brian Anderson (Judy), of Tacoma, Washington, nephews, Wes Harris (Sherri), of Sacramento, California and Ryan Harris of Tacoma, Washington.
He passed away on November 7, 2024 due to a stroke and other health issues.
Mark was kind, engaging, tenacious and an extremely, hard worker. He accepted all challenges and his ability to succeed was limitless.
He had many friends, who loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to Shanda Walker and the staff at Legacy Funeral Homes, in Juneau, Alaska for their kindness and professionalism.
