Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spotswood Funeral Home - Spotswood on Feb. 18, 2026.
David Ronald Dean, 75, of
East Brunswick, New Jersey, was the fourth of five children born in
Memphis, Tennessee, to the late David and Ella B. Dean. He peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at HMH Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.
He was known to many in his family as "Ronald". While living in Memphis, he loved sitting on the porch in the "Big House", as it was called back then, visiting with nearby neighbors who would drop by to see him as he sat on the porch, enjoying the cars as they drove by, waving to say hello, as was customarily done in those days. Despite his health limitations, Ronald was always a very cheerful and welcoming person to all who knew him.
Ronald relocated and settled with family members in
East Brunswick, New Jersey, during the early 2000s. There he continued to enjoy spending time with many of his family members, from cousins to nephews and extended family members nearby. In addition to family, some of his favorite pastimes included watching old western TV reruns, which he really enjoyed. He was always a very upbeat and happy person, despite his limitations.
He is preceded in death by his parents, the late David and Ella Dean, and siblings, Renata Dean Spencer and James Dean. Maternal Grandmother, Beatrice McLemore, and Uncle, Theodore R. McLemore. To cherish his loving memories are his sisters, Cassandra H. Dean and Carolyn A. Dean; niece, Beatrice Dean; Nephews, Sanchez Dean, William O. Mitchell, and Sanchez Dean; Cousins, Mary Ann Bishop (who was his primary caregiver until his unexpected passing), Louis Bishop, Irene Bishop, and Juanita Bishop. In addition, he leaves a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved and adored.
As a family, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for all the expressions of love that have been shown through the many calls, visits, prayers, texts, and every act of compassion extended during our bereavement. We would also like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for Ronald at HMH Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.
Private services were entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home.
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Weep not for me,
though I have gone into that gentle night,
grieve if you will, but not for long.
Upon my soul's sweet flight, I am at peace,
my soul's at rest. There is no need for tears
for with your love, I was so blessed
for all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not
the fear is now all gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts
in your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath,
remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death
but celebrate my life.
