Bonnie Jean (Olinger) Alessi passed away on her 74 birthday, Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Allegany County Health Nursing and Rehab.
Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Ann (Thompson) Olinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Ernest Alessi and nephew, Todd Olinger.
Bonnie was a 1968 graduate of Fort Hill High School. Bonnie was a registered nurse employed at the State Correctional Institute.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Tashia (Hinkle) Nave; grandchildren, Tyler Mellott-Nave, Parker and Carter Nave; sisters, Randy Ann Difonzo and husband, John, Cathy Olinger; brothers, Danny Olinger and wife, Faye and Craig Olinger and wife, Linda. The family would also like to give thanks to Allegany County Health Nursing and Rehab for the wonderful care they gave Bonnie.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Richard Jewell officiating.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
In Bonnie's memory, the family would ask for donations to be made to the Allegany County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 566 Cumberland, MD 21501 (https://alleganyanimalshelter.org/donate).
