She married Jerome Smits on May 12, 1962 and shared 37 years together until his passing on March 26, 2000.
Barb owned and operated WI Research. She loved to read, do crafts, and spend time with her family upnorth. Barb was a lifelong member of St. Mary Parish Catholic Community.
She is survived by her children: Mark (Lisa) Smits; Sandy (Mark) Miller; Scott (Lori) Smits; Lisa (Craig) Andersen. Grandchildren: Kyle, Kory, Nicholas, Megan, Brandon, McKenzie, J'mari. Siblings: Richard (Lynn) Danen; Deborah (Randy) Hansen. Further survived: Stan (Mary) Smits; Steve (Kathy) Smits; Ron (Chris) Smits; numerous nieces and nephews.
Barb was preceded in death by her brother Dale.
Friends may call after 9:00AM on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at St. Mary Parish Catholic Community 4805 Sportsman Rd., Ledgeview, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM with Fr. Matthew Faucett officiating burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
