PIQUA - Ronald M. Miller, 68, of Piqua, passed away unexpectedly at 7:58 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023.
He was born February 23, 1955, in St. Marys to Janet L. (Gast) Miller of Piqua and the late Thomas N. Miller.
He married his high school sweetheart Tina L. Pfenning November 2, 1974 in Colorado Springs, Colorado; a union that would span 49 years, and she survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Jenny Balunis of Piqua, Dawn (Steve) Golembiewski of Monroe, MeLissa (Kevin) Curl of Piqua, Cassie (Nic) Black of Beavercreek; twelve grandchildren and their significant others, Austin, Brady, Ryan, Emma, Sara, Samantha, Kia, Marissa, Vince, Isaac, Elise, Josie; eight great grandchildren, Lylah, Logan, Sophia, Savaiya, Leilen, Addison, Dustin, Nyla; eight siblings, Gary (Dinah) Miller of Colorado, Brice (Jeanne) Miller of Colorado, Diana Wolfe of Casstown, Lynn Albert of Colorado, Marty (Beth) Miller of Iowa, Nick Miller of Florida, Dean Miller of Wyoming, Lori (Roger) Warner of Idaho; and his very special canine companion and best fur friend, Charlie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loved.
Ron was a 1974 graduate of St Marys Memorial High School. He served proudly in the United States Air Force. He worked in various capacities over the years including positions with Western & Southern and Bushong Kitchen Equipment as an installer and supervisor. He and his wife were the owners and operators of Z-Coil Shoes in Downtown Piqua for many years. He was an active and dedicated member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3344 where he served as past Grand Knight. He enjoyed traveling the country with his wife, and they had many wonderful adventures together. He loved to work with his hands tinkering and fixing things, practicing carpentry and enjoyed tending to their house in the woods. Ron was a selfless person who didn't know a stranger; if he ever saw a person in need, he would be the first to offer a helping hand. Mostly, he loved his family; especially his grandchildren and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with them. He will be deeply missed.
