Edgar Dickerson Obituary

Edgar C. "Ed" Dickerson, Jr., 81, of  Easton, PA passed away Friday, November 10th, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA.

Ed was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on October 1, 1942, a son of the late Edgar and Margaret (Collins) Dickerson.

He was the husband of Dawn (Yetter) Dickerson. They would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on November 17th. Ed was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School in Washington NJ. He worked for various food services at Ingersoll Rand for 34 years, then he decided he wanted to drive tractor-trailers down the highway and listen to tunes.

Ed was a member of the Ptarmigan Ski Club, a past member of the Poco (Poor Old Climbers Organization) Ski Club: a lifetime member of the Palmer Fire Company and Safety First Fire Company. He was also a lifetime member and officer of the Golden Arrow Motorcycle Club. Ed enjoyed going to concerts and dancing. He loved to walk and bike with friends. Ed & Dawn traveled the world together, enjoying history tours, beach vacations, hiking, and skiing.

In addition to his wife Dawn, Ed is survived by a son, Scott Dickerson, husband of Charissa, of Alpharetta, GA, and two grandsons Nathan and Garrett.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:30 AM to 12 PM on Friday, November 17th at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 314 S. First St., Bangor, PA. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, November 17th at 12:30 PM at East Bangor Cemetery, East Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Slate Belt Heritage Center attn: Karen Brewer, 30 N. First Street Bangor, PA 18013.

Dawn, I have so many great memories of Ed. Everywhere from the Caribbean pool bar or Utah skiing. He was a great friend and he will truly be missed but he will always be alive in memories. God bless you and your family during these times.

A great guy. He was liked by many, I knew him from ski club and Ingersoll Rand, Prayers to him and his family. So sorry for your loss. Kept active and enjoyed life. Traveled and did so many things, He will be missed.

Ed has been a friend.....and a good friend.....for 44 + years. I remember our ski trips, bus rides, and pool parties where he often kept us in stitches. His heart was big and his smile endearing. We will miss you , Ed. We're here for you Dawn.
