Robert Pandoli Obituary

Robert J. Pandoli
1930 - 2023
EAST LONGMEADOW
Robert J. Pandoli, 93, was called home on November 5, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA on March 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Salvatore J. and Mary Grace (Lerza) Pandoli. Immediately following high school, Bob enrolled in the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War from September, 1948 – August, 1952.
He spent time in Pennsylvania and Virginia, where he became a father to nine children. He then came to Massachusetts with his family and worked as a manager at Friendly's. Later on he became a car salesman and stayed in that profession until the day he retired.
While traveling to Montreal for an expo, Robert met Francoise Doucet and returned to Massachusetts where they had three more children.
Outside of his family life, Bob was a man of simple tastes. He had various comfort foods that he would often stick to such as peanut butter and graham crackers, but his favorite thing was going to Liquori's for their chicken and broccoli pizza. He took much pride in his handwriting and enjoyed personalizing greeting cards for friends and family.
Important weekly rituals included cheering for his Pittsburgh Steelers and attending mass at Holy Name. Old age did little to slow him down as he insisted on doing whatever he could on his own, and always left himself enough energy to flirt with his favorite nurses.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by a newborn son, Jeffrey; his son-in-law John and his two grandchildren Brian and Violet.
To cherish his memory, Bob is survived by his children Susan, Robert, Lawrence, Gregory (Jeanne), Martha, Janice, Lisa (Stephen), David, Kevin (Crystal), Mireille, Danielle (Scott) and Christopher; his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as his brother John.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 9 AM at Holy Name Church, 323 Dickinson Street, Springfield followed by committal services at 11 AM at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Main Street, Agawam.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert's memory may be made to "The Violet Movement" at www.thevioletmovement.com in honor of his late granddaughter, Violet Françoise Andrews. For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.forastiere.com
