John Robert Blilie

PHOENIX, AZ - John Robert Blilie, age 69, passed away at his home in Phoenix, AZ, on October 25, 2023. He was born in Madison, WI, on August 1, 1954, to Robert and Lois Blilie, and later graduated from Madison East High School in 1972.
He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from UW-Madison and a Master's degree from Arizona State University.
A lifelong advocate for health and fitness, John devoted his career to geriatric care, recognizing the importance of physical health for seniors.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, running, biking, skiing, and walking with his beloved dog. His compassion and dedication have made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
John was preceded in death by his father, Robert Blilie, and brother, Thomas Blilie. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Blilie; mother, Lois Blilie; sister, Carolyn (Robin) Rowe; children: Rita (Sean) Smith, Sara Blilie, and Alexander (Carolyn) Blilie; grandchildren: James (Edith Osorio) Blilie and Rikayla Blilie; as well as many beloved aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Esquire Club, 1025 N. Sherman Ave., Madison.

I had the honor to work with John, become his friend, and best man in his wedding. Such a gentleman and positive influence on those that he met. I feel very fortunate to have been his friend and he will be forever missed!
