This beautiful lady, Mrs. Finney, was my neighbor. My siblings and I knew her simply as Mrs. Finney, Bro. Finney's wife. For years, we only saw her ride by coming and going. She would always smile and wave to us if we were outside or driving by. We knew she was married to Mr. Finney, her husband... my siblings and I would dubbed as the cool, friendly neighbor. I knew she was a mom of twin boys we watched grow up into men with children of their own. We saw all of this from the house diagonally across the street.

I spoke to her for the first time a few years ago. She walked into Ulta Beauty Store where I was employed as a Hair Stylist. I didn't know who she was at first, I was asking if she needed any assistance and she asked me questions about a few hair products and took my advice and thanked me. I looked at her and asked, "Do I know you?" She smiled and said, "I'm not sure." I said, "You look like my neighbor, Mrs. Finney." She said, "I am Mrs. Finney." I told her I was one of the children (fully grown) of her neighbor whose parents lived diagonally across the street from her and we both laughed hard. She thanked me for my help and went on her way. That was the first, and last time I actually had a conversation with her. But watching her from my parent's yard all of these years, I can say she was a lady with much class. Quiet, neat and well-dressed. She carried herself as a lady should. There is only good to think about our neighbor Mrs. Finney who lived diagonally across from us all these years.

We would wait to wave at her when we saw her car leaving the garage. We waited to wave at her when she came down the street and watched her park her car in the garage. She made no noise, she wasn't loud, she wasn't nosey. To my family and me, she was a great neighbor we all waited to wave at.

I was shocked when my mother called me to give me the sad news. It really hit me hard.

To Mr. Finney, Brother, I am so sorry you lost your lovely Queen. To Jerome and Jerrod and family, I am so sorry you lost your beautiful mother.
May God comfort each of you in your hearts, and may He fill the void and answer all of your questions as only He can do. God bless you.
