Frank Hicks Obituary
Frank Dewitt Hicks Jr. who his childhood family members & friends may have affectionately known as "Newt" 66, husband of the late Gloria Washington Hicks, passed away Saturday, June 12 2022 at the Presbyterian Hospital.
Born February 11, 1956, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Frank Pearl Hicks & the late Gertrude Keith Hicks.
Frank Dewitt Hicks Jr. attended Bishop McGuiness & East Forsyth High school where he was a renowned member of the Esquire Social Club. In 1980 Frank Hicks graduated from Massey's Business College in Atlanta Georgia. He then went to pursue a successful career with British Airways, Piedmont Airlines, & retired with United Airlines, where he received multiple achievements such as a pinned Excellence award, & promotion to Senior Flight Attendant. Frank was a blessed & humble servant leader who enjoyed the fruits of his labor by traveling God's green earth, & listening to jazz music in diverse places. His charismatic energy was contagious as his smile would literally brighten your day with every interaction! Frank Dewitt Hicks Jr. was a profound man of faith who embodied the term "family man."
In addition to his wife Gloria Washington Hicks, he was predeceased by his sister Sherline Hicks Boston, & brother the late Gabriel Reginald Duncan.
He is survived by his two sons: Sutton & Trevor Hicks of Charlotte North Carolina, his sister Natalie Hicks McQueen of Winston-Salem North Carolina, & his niece Lauren D. Payne of Winston-Salem North Carolina.

I was so sad to learn that Frank had flown west! He will never be forgotten! Frank was such a sweet and funny guy who was awesome to fly with. He will be missed.

Extremely lost for words!!A gentle giant!! I remember he and I went to the dollar store and picked out some flowers for me to make an arrangement for Frank Hicks to put on his mother's grave. He asked what would it cost? No charge was my answer. What an honor and it was definitely an honor to know him. Prayers Dispatched to the family for strength and comfort on today and beyond. God truly takes the absolute best.

I am so sorry to hear my husband and I met Frank at a jazz concert in South Carolina Who knows why are Paths crossed my husband was waiting on a kidney transplant frank telling my husband he had Received a kidney transplant and from then on if we were at the same concert we would make sure that we looked each other up my husband received a kidney in 2017frank always kept in touch by Facebook we live in ky my prayers to his family
