Kansas City, Missouri - Laura Armacost Frick, 78, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on November 6, 2023, in her hometown.

Laura was born on October 3, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lucille and Don Armacost. She was a beloved wife to William Lockton Frick for 54 years, a devoted mother to Travis Armacost Frick and Tyler Lockton Frick, and cherished grandmother to Arthur Travis Frick.

Laura's educational journey began at Prairie Elementary School, followed by her studies at Shawnee Mission East High School. She further pursued higher education at Pine Manor Junior College and graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Art History. After graduating Laura taught at Whittier Elementary School in Kansas City for three years.

Laura had a vibrant and adventurous spirit. She was involved in the Junior League of Kansas City, where she served on various committees. Laura also found joy in her career as a travel agent and tour guide, allowing her to explore numerous destinations worldwide. She had the opportunity to visit Europe, South America, Australia, New Zealand, China, and India. During two memorable summers, Laura rented an apartment with her two sons in London. Two years later they continued their adventure in Paris where they immersed themselves in British and French cultures.

In addition to her love for travel, Laura actively contributed to her community. She served on the Board of the Vero Beach Museum of Art and The Riverside Theatre. Laura was an avid reader and participated in several book clubs, fostering her passion for literature. She also enjoyed engaging in social activities, such as bridge and golf.

Laura Armacost Frick will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her dedication to community service, and her love for travel and literature. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Laura's sparkle and exquisite style will forever be remembered.

A funeral service honoring Laura's life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Country Club Christian Church, located at 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64113. A reception will follow the service, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to gather and share their memories of Laura.

The family suggests donations go to the Brain Health Fund to support the Alzheimer's Disease and Research Center at The University of Kansas Health System.
