Thomas Eastwood Obituary

Thomas Eastwood
Thomas Edward Eastwood, 81, of Enfield, Connecticut, died on October 26, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Born in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, to the late James and Elisabeth (Pease) Eastwood, he attended schools in his hometown of Ellington, Connecticut. He enlisted in the Air Force after high school and served 4 years during the Vietnam War. After discharge, he worked for a plumbing business, then in the electronics field for Hi-G in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. After continuing his education, he worked in the computer field in tech support and as a software engineer, retiring in 2012 from Veeder-Root in Simsbury, Connecticut. Tom was a family man who was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He had a heart of gold, always thinking of others. He was a hard worker, kind and sensitive, with a great sense of humor. He nurtured his faith reading his Bible regularly, which helped him overcome adversity in his life. Home projects and woodworking kept him busy until he was no longer able to skillfully use his hands. Tom loved nature and the outdoors, hiking and sharing those times with his sons, going camping in the early years and later exploring and accompanying his son, Ryan, on photography shoots. He had a love for reading, poetry, and solving Sudoku puzzles.
Along with his wife of over 53 years, Diana, he leaves his sons, Kevin Eastwood and his wife, Colleen, of Windham, New Hampshire, Ryan Eastwood of Deep River, Connecticut; his granddaughters, Cassandra and Cadence Eastwood; his brothers, John Eastwood of Las Vegas, Nevada, Randall Eastwood and his wife, Marilyn, of Manchester, Connecticut, and Russell Eastwood of Orwell, Vermont; his brother-in-law Alan Simon and wife, Buju Dasgupta, of Northampton, Massachusetts; his nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members. His family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and palliative care staff at St. Francis Hospital for the kind and compassionate care he received there.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 3– 5 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, Connecticut, where a short service will be held following visiting hours. A private funeral will be held on November 6, 2023, with burial at the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, Connecticut.
