Henry Tingle Obituary

TINGLE HENRY E., JR. Henry Emerson Tingle Jr. was born on January 21, 1956, and passed away on November 3, 2023. Henry, after graduating from Atlantic City High School in 1973, enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1975. While serving in the Navy he completed the U.S. Naval School Electrician's Apprenticeship. Shortly after leaving the Navy, Henry joined the IBEW, local 98 union, where he was a member for 45 years. One of his greatest accomplishments as an electrician was as the project foreman on the Liberty II Complex in downtown Philadelphia where he oversaw 400 employees and personally installed the iconic red aircraft warning beacon on top of the complex. Henry received his B.A from U oF P, Wharton School of Business, his Law degree from Widner University School of Law and a Master of Laws in Trial Advocacy from Temple University. He worked for the city of Philadelphia's District Attorney Office as an ADA for eight years, and then as a private criminal trial attorney until his passing. Henry and Linda (nee King) were married for 36 years and together they raised two daughters. He loved to fish and golf during his down time. Henry leaves to cherish his memory; his loving and devoted wife Linda, his loving daughters Danielle and Courtney, 3 grandchildren, Kenneth, Julia and Isiah; his loving mother Julia Tingle (nee Bernhardt) siblings, Julia DeSimone (Ralph), Bernadette Hisel (Rory), Celeste Amundsen (Thomas), Joseph Tingle (Kathleen), Lois Janke (Thomas), Jennifer Chomko (Jeffrey). A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Henry is predeceased by his father Henry E. Tingle Sr., sister Mary Louise McLaughlin and brother Robert Tingle. Henry, loving husband, father, pop-pop, brother, uncle and friend. We will miss you. Sorrowfully, the family. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Monday, November 20 from 11 A.M. - 12 Noon followed by his Funeral Mass 12 Noon at IHM Church, 819 Cathedral Rd., Phila. 19128.
