Dear Buchen Family,
Your mom was a force of nature! She was like the energizer bunny, always going the extra mile to help others.
Our family has so many wonderful memories of being with her over the daycare years:
o Fun play with the other kids, and the "big kids" as well: Jon and Jimmy especially
o Handmade Christmas ornaments each year which have become the most treasured on our tree. Our adult children still argue about who gets the most visible spots on the tree for their ornaments.
o Choosing a flavored candy cane from her tree to keep and eat
o Walking down Dunton most every day in the summer for pool time at what is now Burt´s house.
o Lots of bear hugs and love
And the memories go beyond the daycare years:
o Saved seats for the Fourth of July parades, with B running around getting chairs or fetching refreshments for everyone and Mr. B sitting in his perch at the top of the steps.
o B serving as our realtor when we downsized to our condo on Dunton. She really went to bat for us when the purchase price was negotiated.
Suffice it so say that the Brodies loved B. She played a big part in our kids´ formative years, and we couldn´t be more grateful. She will be greatly missed.
Love,
The Brodie family

Carol Buchen was an extraordinary person! She had a positive impact on so many people. From "fox hunting" to toasted cheese sandwiches, she and Jim made life better in countless ways. The world is a lesser place without her, but she left us many fond memories. Condolences to Burt, Tim, Kim, Janice, Jonathan and James, and thanks for sharing your great mom with us.

We will be eternally grateful for the loving day care she provided for our children. She also showed us, as a new parents, how to be more patient and have fun through the daily ups and downs.
