Marcella Criste Obituary

Marcella "Marci" Criste passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, following a very courageous battle with esophageal cancer. She was 71 years old. Marci was employed by the Yolo Emergency Communications Agency/Yolo 911 for 28 years. There, she was tasked with: managing Human Resources, finance and budget responsibilities, maintaining the agency's Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) policy and procedure manuals and other assorted duties; and provided invaluable historical knowledge to a number of new agency directors. She was known for her positive attitude and cheerful spirit. She retired in 2016.Marci leaves her loving husband, John, her children Tara Neilson of Sacramento, Traci Neilson of Woodland, and Leland Neilson of Great Bend, Kansas, two loving step-sons, James Criste of Woodland and Steven Criste of Watsonville, eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, along with numerous family members, friends and former co-workers. She will be missed by many!Per her wishes no funeral or memorial services will be held.
