David McNamara Obituary

David Thomas McNamara

Belmont, NH - David Thomas McNamara died at his home after a courageous fight against cancer. He was surrounded by family, in the home he and his wife Janis worked so hard for over the years to make it everything they dreamed of.

Born in Massachusetts March 30, 1950 to Thomas and Blanche McNamara; he was the youngest of four children. He moved to Belmont during his high schools years and here he stayed raising his loving family. He worked a few different jobs and retired after 33 years from Concord Hospital; to pursue his love of farming, his family, restoring antique cars with his friend Jack Butler and many adventures with Janis in his 1947 MG.

Those who knew David even if just for a moment can attest to what a hard working, genuinely kind soul that he was. He was the go to guy for anything and everything, the Mr Fix-it, the baby whisperer, smart and intuitive in everything he laid his hands on but most of all the most amazing husband, father, friend and neighbor any of us could have asked for. His family was his greatest treasure. He loved with all his heart and believed in being kind and patient to everyone he met. The smile and wave to whomever crossed paths with him is something so many will never forget.

He will be missed by everyone he touched but especially his beloved wife and best friend Janis McNamara, his trusty sidekick Mason, his daughter Jennifer Deware and son in law John Deware, his son Jason McNamara and fiancé Mel, his son Paul Blake and wife Deb, daughter Angela Hanson and husband Michael and son Christopher Blake and wife Jennifer. His sister Judith Hebblethwaite, 2 brothers; Robert McNamara and wife Deb and Richard McNamara and wife Karlene, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren that he'd say made him the richest man alive.

David was preceded by his parents and his grandson Jacob Deware. May they hold him close.

We would like to truly thank the amazing crew at Lakes Region VNA for their continued support and guidance they gave us, during this incredibly tough week. Their services were above and beyond.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Jake Deware Kindness Project created in memory of David's Grandson. Kindness is something David always carried with him, if you knew him you felt it. Jake Deware Kindness Project, 138 South Rd Belmont NH 03220

My condolences to The McNamara Family, I had the pleasure of working With David for many years at Concord Hospital. I will never forget him teaching me the secrets of bees wax when breaking apart old rusty threads on pipes. Dave had a big heart and will be missed by many.

My sincerest sympathies to Janis and the entire family for your loss. The obituary nailed it. If someone were to ask me if I knew of anyone that was a genuinely kind and good hearted man, Dave would be my first thought. From the first time I met him he always was there to lend a hand, offer advise in a humble way, or offer a smile. He would be the first to arrive and last to leave in a moment of need. He certainly will be a person this earth will miss as there are very few people as respected and as kind hearted as he.
Your friend always, Paul
