Barbara Welch Obituary

Barbara Lee Welch, 60, Upland, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:58 pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born in Kankakee, Illinois, on Saturday, February 23, 1963, to Randall and Janice (Hay) Culver.

Brabara graduated from South Adams High School and earned her Bachelor's degree from Marion College. She was last employed at Colonial Oaks as a dietary aid. She loved crocheting, playing the piano and was an accomplished musician. Her purpose in life was to reflect and share the love of Jesus Christ to those around her. This was demonstrated through her love of serving others, mentoring and generosity. She always was thinking of others first and not herself. She loved well and was a great mother and mother-in-law leaving a lasting impact on those she touched. Barbara was a living example of Micah 6:8 "…And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

Survivors include her husband, Edwin Welch of Upland; sons, David (Bethany) Welch of Columbus, OH, Jonathan Welch of Upland, Carol (Gary) Livengood of New Haven, Cathy (David) Ziegenfuss of Walnut Port, PA, and Carin Riley of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Janice Culver.

The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on November 6, 2023 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at 1:00 pm, on November 7, 2023 at College Wesleyan Church 200 E. 38th St., Marion, IN. Adam Carroll will be officiating with burial following at Van Buren Cemetery.

Ed, I am so sorry for your loss. I have never never forgotten Barb's kindness and encouragement to me when I moved back to Upland. She helped me get through some really rough times. And I'll never forget the crocheting lessons.
Just know I'll be praying for you and your family. Christine Fights
