Lucille Salamone Obituary

Feb. 8, 1930 – Feb. 7, 2014

Lucille Claire Salamone, of Williamsville, a former assistant vice president for operations finance at HSBC, died last Friday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a short illness. She was 83.

Born Lucille Scamurra in Buffalo, she graduated from Kensington High School and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Canisius College in 1982.

Mrs. Salamone retired in 1992 after more than 40 years in banking with HSBC and its predecessor Marine Midland.

She was known as an avid bridge player, reader and cook.

Mrs. Salamone was a member and past treasurer of both the Out of Towner's and Suburban Women's clubs of Buffalo.

She was also a member of the Ladies' Aquila Society and served as a member of Our Ladies of Charity at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.

She was a generous contributor to many charities.

Survivors include her husband of more than 66 years, Norman; a daughter, Catherine Alexander; two sons, Charles and James; a sister, Natalie McIntosh; a brother, Vincent Scamurra; and four grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. today in St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 St. Gregory Court at Maple Road, Amherst.
