Kathryne Moro Obituary

Silently the long journey has ended. God opened his door and angels showed the way.

Kathryne of Housatonic passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2022.

Born in New York City August 20, 1952, daughter of Francis and Eileen Gaarn. Kathy married Andrew Moro on April 17, 1971. They celebrated their 50th anniversary this past April. Mother of Angela Pevzner along with her husband Matt of Great Barrington and Jenine Moro and her fiancé Rick Rotti of Pittsfield. She leaves two grandchildren that were the love of her life Elizabeth and Victoria Pevzner.

Kathy attended Catholic Parochial Schools in New York City including St. Jude's and Mother Cabrini Academy of upper Manhattan. Kathy moved with her family to Great Barrington in 1969 and was a graduate of Monument Mountain in 1970 and a graduate of Berkshire Community College.

She was employed at several local banks including First Agricultural and worked at Country Curtains in Lee.

Along with her husband and daughters she leaves behind her mother Eileen Gaarn of Great Barrington along with her brother Christopher Gaarn and his wife Sally of El Paso Texas. She will also be greatly missed by her granddaughters Elizabeth and Victoria Pevzner. She will be missed by numerous family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Francis Gaarn and her sister Cecilia Gaarn. The family would like to thank Hospice Care in the Berkshires for their great care of Kathryne.

A liturgy of Christian Burial for Kathryne Marie Moro will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 21 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME on 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA officiated by Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor. Family will receive friends Friday, January 21 prior to the service from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Due to COVID concerns masks are requested. Condolences may be made through birchesroyfuneralservices.com.
