Elizabeth Bell Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" M. Bell, 96, of Lee, MA, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in Lenox.

Betty was born in Lee, on January 11, 1926 to John and Alice (McCann) Bossidy. She attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Lee High School. She worked at General Electric, Bell Television- Berkshire Microwave, and the Red Lion Inn. Betty married Frederick William Bell in 1949 at St. Mary's Church and they were married for 65 years until Bill passed in 2014. She and Bill retired together in 1983 to Florida and created a wonderful life together. Betty's greatest joy was her family and church. She was very active and volunteered for everything that she could. She loved to serve her church and retirement community as often as she could. Most holidays she was standing in line serving people a warm meal or visiting elderly to cheer them up or pray with them.

Betty is survived by her son: Stephen (Tracy) Bell of Dayton, OH and her daughter: Anita (Tom) Bailey of Lee; five grandchildren: Bill, Kristin, Heather, Corey and Ryan; four great grandchildren: Rylee, Emmalyn, Madison and Lillian. She is predeceased by her husband, Bill Bell; brothers: Jack and Jimmy and her sister Barbara.

A private service will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. Betty's family would like to thank the staff at Mount Carmel Care Center for the care and love Betty received while she was there.
