Caroline Freeman Obituary

Caroline Jane Adams Freeman, aka "Babe", 88, passed away on October 31, 2023. Beloved sister to George (Shirley), Clinton (Sandy), and Peter (Margaret), and late William Freeman and Arvilla Grenier. Aunt to many nieces and nephews who loved her very much and best friend to the late Margaret Freeman.

Born in Hoosick Falls, NY on December 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Freeman. In earlier years, Babe lived at home and lovingly cared for her mother Helen, who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. She enjoyed running the summer vegetable stand with her niece Tonya for many years. Babe was an active member of her church as well as the local senior center, always looking for a chance to win the next "big one" at Thursday Bingo. One of Babe's favorite hobbies, which brought her so much joy, was sending cards to others and receiving cards in the mail. She proudly displayed them for everyone to see in her kitchen. Babe loved Christmas. She always waited for Peter, Peggy, Tonya, Shannon and Scott to come over and open her gifts from Santa and play her latest Christmas musical toy.

Later in life, Babe loved nothing more than spending time at home. She enjoyed visits from her neighbors the Boll's, car rides with her niece Shannon and spending time with her brother Peter. This was all possible due to her dedicated caretakers, especially her physician Dr. Carroll, her brothers Peter and Clinton, her niece Shannon and her friend Marie. Because of their loving and supportive care, Babe was able to live out her final days doing what she loved, and that was being at home, enjoying the simple things in life and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6th, at 1:00 pm, from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00pm until the start of the service.
