ROBERT DOE Obituary

Just recently found out about Bobby Doe's passing. I sailed with him on his "Christian Venturer" schooner trans Atlantic in 1980 (Boston-Norway-Sweden-Amsterdam representing Bermuda in that Summer of Tall Ship Races/Events), but never stayed in touch with him. Recently out of curiosity I wondered 'whatever happened to Bobby Doe', hoping to reconnect with him to let him know that I continued sailing on yachts for another 40 years after my 'CV' days. I am saddened that I didn't search just a few years earlier. He was quite a character. I enjoyed my time on CV. Sincere condolences to his family.

Condolences to you Fiona and Jen. Bobby was a legend in his own right. He sure loved and lived life. Hoping that your countless memories bring you peace and comfort. His spirit will live on in you. Dad appreciated his letters and thought and spoke of him often. May he rest in peace. You and your family remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Knew him all my life.
A man of his word and then some.
Rest in peace ole sailor and may his family know that he is sailing much calmer waters.

I'd heard this 'through the grapevine' a while ago, was saddened then, and saddened further.
Bobby was a great guy, a wonderful person.
Knew him since his days at the airport, as a taxiway and ramp controller for aircraft. I was a teenager then and knew him to always be happy and helpful, pleasant and caring.
Always will remember him challenging the elements in his very handily built ocean going craft. What a yachtsman!
He will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Bobby.
