Paul Mortland Obituary

Paul Thomas Mortland, 93, of Mercer, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 surrounded by his family.  He was born in Brownsville, PA on May 10, 1928 to the late Paul Revere Mortand and Viola P. (Burnstein) Mortland.

Paul married Betty Jane (Cmar) Mortland in 1946, she preceded him in death in February 1969.  He later married Joyce Mae (Greggs) Mortland in 1970, and she preceded him in death in June 2021.

He retired from A’Pohoro and was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers #66 in Youngstown, OH.

Paul is survived by four children:  Chuck Mortland in Mercer, PA; Barb (Jim) Dailey in Grove City, PA; Cyndi Burk and her companion George Burns in Mercer, PA; Tom (Cathy) Mortland in Mercer, PA.  He is also survived by one sister:  Ruthann Jones in Sharon, PA; one step daughter:  Wendy (Tom) Reno in Hermitage, PA; as well as 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Both wives, one brother:  John Mortland; two sons:  Jack and Paul Mortland; one daughter:  Bonnie Mortland; and one step son:  Randy Zec preceded Paul in death.

Visitation will be at Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 144 S. Pitt Street, Mercer, PA 16137 on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.  Funeral service will follow immediately after visitation at the funeral home at 7:00 PM with Rev. Betty Angelini officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Twp., PA.
