So long Bill, I am going to miss having chats on the phone, you will be at peace now. Another family link gone...we value all the times over the many years we have shared, and when you played the bagpipes at our wedding.....rest easy.....

Fly free now Dr Ward. I too worked with you for many years in OT. Your professional manner and dry wit will never be forgotten. I think of you often and I remember my last meeting you by chance in Christchurch Airport before we both flew back to Invercargill. To your family I offer my condolences on the loss they now endure but be assured they have lost a wonderful man, an asset to their family and to the wider Southland community for his many faithful years of service as a doctor. Fly free Bill o faithful servant

Dr Ward, I was a new graduate nurse when I met u. U were inspirational and kind to someone who knew nothing. I worked with u for many years, I'll never forget the boiler suit, and the public of Southland were always in your capable hands when faced with their own crisis of elective and emergency operations in Theatre. Sleep well Dr Ward, u deserve it.

It is with sadness that we farewell Bill. He has been a member of the Gore Aero Club for a long time and was a regular at our weekend BBQ's, we will miss his conversation and handling of the BBQ tongs. He will also be missed by the flying community. Fly safe and smoooth landings.
