William FIELDES Obituary
Peacefully, at Golden View, Care, Cromwell, on Friday, August 8, 2025, aged 101 years. Dearly loved husband of *Alice and *Marjorie, cherished father and father-in-law of Geoffrey and Moire, Ross and Vibe, Lyall and Joanna, Blair and Ann. Loved Grandfather of his 7 Grandchildren and 4 great-Grandchildren. In accordance with Bill's wishes a private cremation has taken place. A Memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel, 106 Hokonui Drive, Gore, on Friday, September 26, at 11.00am, followed by a light luncheon. Bill will be interred with Alice at the Charlton Park Cemetery thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for Hokonui St John. Great memories of Bill over the years. He was always cheerful and had a sincere passion for the Gore RSA and in particular his great fondness to travel with the Travel section and privately. He made lasting friendships with whatever he was involved in and shared great interest in all that he did. A gentleman greatly admired and now sadly missed. Patricia & Allan Boyer

Peacefully slipped away on August 8, 2025 with immediate family at Golden View Care Home, Cromwell. Bill had been a wonderful caring and supportive husband to the late Marj (formerly Scott, nee Mitchell) for 37 years. A loving tribute from his extended family - Graeme and Elaine Scott (Gore) and family, also Jocelyn and Wayne Meffan (Te Anau) and family. A true gentleman, who achieved and exceeded his wish to reach 100 years of age, by one.
