Willy was a young in years, approx 17/18 year old man when he was employed on our Sharemilking job at Waianiwa. It has taken me too long to write this however I would like Willys parents, children and family to know that I thought Willy was to this day one of the most loyal hardworking, kind and empathetic people I have ever met in my life. Willy was thrown into a huge responsibility when illness struck in our family and he stepped up and never gave up and I have never forgotten what he did for us, so many years have passed and our paths never crossed again but I will always remember him, my thoughts go out to his entire family.

I met Willy when we were 16 and instantly connected. It didn't matter how much time passed between our chats, we were always on the same page. I wish we had more time to share that coffee and not just the promise of it. Will forever miss you, my birthday buddy

I fondly remember Willy bailing up Mr Jarvis at prizegiving after a Romanaics race week ( when he was sponsored by RockStar ) trying to persuade Graham to wear a RedBull cap, in place of the RockStar cap. It went on for quite some time and involved heaps of banter with some cordial drinks.
Willy was also remembered for his generosity and chaperoned both Daniel and Abe at different race meetings, when a guardian was required. Willy would willingly sacrifice his own race result for someone else; he would always think of others before himself.
Even in recent weeks, he donated $$ to a recovery fund for Grants (Jarbert) own health battle.
To Willy's family; you can be very proud of his friends he has made through the motorcycle adventures he has been part of. And we will always remember a smiling kiwi, from down south.
Thanks Willy.
