I´m sorry to hear of Warren´s passing. While he may not have been a grandad in action, he was one by name. It would have meant a lot if he had remembered that his grandson´s name was Logan, not Lachie.

Part of my life's good fortune was to share a childhood with Warren and the rest of the Gore Townsend family. I was the same age and lived next door and we were part of a bunch of Willis and High Street kids that played together and ran free; swimming at "The Bend", swinging from the trees, catching tadpoles in the old quarry frog pond, bullies in the farm creek, plucking wool from dead sheep on Lamb Hill, holidays at Kaka Point, wagging kindergarten, scrumping apples from the Matheson's and Bannerman orchards. What fun. What a great start to life. Thank you Warren.

I have nothing but fond memories of Warren of when he lived his early life in Gore. We were close friends at Gore Main Primary school. He always won the running races, and I came second. Now and finally, he has beaten me again in the race to Heaven.
