Albert Piche Obituary

PICHE, Albert It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Piche on January 19, 2016. He was born in Burnaby on March 5, 1932. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Lilian and brothers, Arthur (Joan) and Barry (Helen). He is survived by his brother Larry, sisters, Florrie (Neil), Lorraine, Jeanette (Frank), brother-in-law, Barry (Joyce) and many nieces and nephews. As a youth, Al spent time in the navy during the Korean War and later tried his hand at Real Estate. He married in 1954, eventually settling in Victoria where he managed the downtown parkades. Al was an avid sportsman. As a young man he played lacrosse, water skied and scuba dived. He belonged to the Gorge Vale Golf Club for many years and served on the board. He loved to sing and play the guitar, especially around the campfire. He was also an avid reader. After retiring from the parkades he managed a little Lotto Shop on Broughton St. His vibrant personality, friendliness and ability to remember each person by name attracted scores of customers. He absolutely loved his store which gave him enormous pleasure for six years. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. At Al's request, there will be no service.

L hired me at the Parkade when I was 16 and totally green. He was just the nicest guy. Reading the comments I can see that everybody else felt the same way, what a lovely man.
